Other Information

We encourage participants to explore the following activities and restaurants found in the Riverside area, however time will be limited on Saturday during the conference.

Please note, these are a few of our favorites, but there are many other things to do and places to eat in the area. Please ask us for more information if you're interested in exploring further.

  • UCR Botanic gardens
    located on campus, open 8am-5pm, $4 donation suggested
  • Riverside Metropolitan Museum
    Natural history, history of Riverside
    Open T-F 9-5, Sa 10-5, Su 11-5, Free (but donations suggested)
  • Mission Inn
    Historic Riverside hotel, spa, museum, $2 donation suggested
    Tours offered ($13 adults, $1 off with AAA membership), reservations recommended
  • Mt. Rubidoux
    easy hike, paved 3 mile loop, 500 ft. elevation gain, scenic view of Riverside and Santa Ana River, dog park (Carlson Park) located at base, parking at dog park (west side of mountain) or street parking (east side of mountain)
  • Santa Ana bike trail
    easy hike, paved trail stretches at least 10 miles north and south of Riverside, follows the Santa Ana River, parking at Carlson Park
  • Sycamore Canyon
    moderate hike but some large elevation changes, 12 miles+ of dirt trails, ~ 1000 ft. elevation gain, abundant wildlife (including rattlesnakes), several microhabitats (including a creek), Scenic views of Riverside and Moreno Valley, mountain biking permitted, parking available in a lot off Central Ave.

  • Box springs

    Vietnamese, excellent mango smoothies!
  • Sushiya
    sushi, most is half price most of the time
  • Bann Thai
    excellent thai food, good atmosphere
Italian:
  • Romano's
    half the restaurant is a bar with Chicago style stuffed pizza and the other half is a sit-down Italian restaurant
  • Canyon Crust
    paninis, pizza, salads
Mexican:
  • Taco Station
    Mexican but in a style of an old gas station with memorabilia
  • Tio's tacos
    fun garbage art sculptures!
